Jack's son, William, had a wonderful Service for him at Terrell Broady Funeral Home in Nashville, TN. on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, attended by many, many friends and relatives. Members of the Patriot Guard stood outside the Funeral Home with US Flags to honor the passing of an American Veteran.

Then, on Monday, Jan. 30th, flanked by representatives from the Patriot Guard, Rolling Thunder TN1, the VFW Post 8422 in Smyrna, TN,

and VetsNiteOut, the procession made its way to the Veterans Cemetery in Pegram, TN.

Once again, out of respect for the passing of one of our esteemed Veterans, all present held US Flags.

It was a tremendous send-off for such a great guy

and huge VetsNiteOut member!

Jack tremendously enjoyed being a part of VetsNiteOut ... and VetsNiteOut is honored to

have had the opportunity to serve him!

RIP Jack Mays ... it was a pleasure to know you, sir...

you will be greatly missed!

(And afterwards, we did exactly what Jack would have wanted us to do.... we went out to eat, had a great meal ... and toasted Jack Mays!

NEW YEAR!!

Wishing everyone the very best as we start off yet another year of VetsNiteOut! We hope to continue with our 4-6 or more trips/events per month for the Disabled Veterans residing in Nursing Homes, and continue to be there for them if they need something they can't get otherwise. (Veterans in Nursing Homes who are on Medicaid get $50 per month for spending money. Sometimes that runs out and we like to be able to help when we can!)

We'd like to thank all the Veterans who went with us last year...all our Hosts and Sponsors who provided them with a wonderful experience each and every time we went...all the Staff at the Tennessee State Veterans Home, without whose help and cooperation our trips would not be possible ... and all the kind- hearted individuals and groups who have contributed their time and money (and cigarettes!) to help make VetsNiteOut such a success! We are so grateful to be able to serve our Disabled Veterans in this way... to be able to give back just a little ... and to show a little respect and appreciation for all they've done for us!

So THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts...and we look forward to doing it again this year! WOOHOO!
